This is a quick guide on what you should build, upgrade and when.
My Strat
Always focus on upgrading only the buildings required for the next one or two progression steps. Avoid upgrading anything else unless it can be completed very quickly, such as when you have strong alliance help or an upgraded builder’s hut.
A handy trick is that if you stack enough building time reduction, some upgrades will cost 0 diamonds. Take advantage of this during Arms Race Building theme for easy points.
