Arms Race

A guide on Arms Race, one of the most, if not the most important event.

Arms race is a permanent event under events in the top right.

This is an ever-changing event, it changes its goal every 4 hours, this can be checked by clicking on the calendar.

There are 5 different themes

  1. Hero Advancement
  2. Unit Progression
  3. Tech research
  4. Base Building
  5. Drone boost

We are trying to hit the third box every 4 hours, if possible. In this case the one with 18,000 under it.

This also gives us access to the Overall daily reward boxes. This goes up to 18/18 badges, badges are received by hitting the boxes awards per day. you can get 3 rewards from it per day.

There is also an overall ranking that determines if you win a small prize daily, this is a nice to have but the real thing we are trying to do is hit all our boxes.

each theme has their own requirements to get points.

Themes

A quick note on Diamond options.

As a mainly F2P player (Free 2 play) I will not cover buying packs. Each of the themes allows for this same diamond pack buying. I have bought Kim and the 2nd build queue. That's it so far!

Buy Packs containing Diamonds

This will give you points based on money spent that gives you diamonds, eg buy a pack that contains 150 diamonds, you get 150 x 30 = 450 points

Hero Advancement

My Strat

I save up all my EXP and hero recruitment tickets and try to never use outside of this arms race, then smash it out.

Unit Progression

This is all about building units.

Train a Lv.(X) unit (Where x is the highest level you can make)

Use 1-min Training Speed-Up

This refers to using either specific training speed-ups, or the generic ones. any form of speed up done for training and you 10 points per 1 minute of speed-up spent.

My Strat

One thing I always pay attention to is when the event is due to roll over. I make sure I have fresh units queued in every barracks level, ready to finish exactly as the timer ticks over.

I start by using my lowest-level barracks to train new units based on the time remaining. For example, if Arms Race has 4 hours left and that barracks can train 360 units in 6 hours, I adjust the slider to train around 235 units in 3.9 hours so they complete right on time.

From there, each higher-level barracks upgrades those units step by step. The lowest barracks produces level 2 troops, the next upgrades them to level 3, then the next to level 4, and so on. While this doesn’t necessarily make the process faster, it’s the most efficient way to maximise points.

Finally, I spend any speed-ups I have on the highest-level barracks, since higher-tier troops are worth the most points.

Tech Research

Tech Research is about you guessed it... Research.

Increase Tech Power by 1pt

This is done by completing research, when you complete a piece of research you get its upgrade points. You can find the upgrade points by clicking on the science then the I

In this case I have it at level 4 shown by the red background, so if I complete level 5 I would get a total delta of 1700 points, 3800 - 2100 = 1700.

Use 1-min Research Speed-Up

This refers to using either specific research speed-ups, or the generic ones. any form of speed up done for research and you 10 points per 1 minute of speed-up spent. eg for the research above gathering food level 5, I would get 1700 points from power, and if I sped it up 910 points. so a total of 2610 points.

I like to see when this is due then I have my research queue lined up to complete bang on when it ticks over, prefferably with a researach with the most points possible, I then start the next research I require and spend as many speed-ups as I have to maximize points, as im aiming for no 1 as well as the three chests

Base Building

Make sure you actually click on the present the building turns into, as thats when the points are calculated

Drone boost

My Strat

I save up all my drone data and never use outside of this arms race, then smash it out. I also try to save as much stamina as possible. I also try to save up my radars, while making sure I am not timing out on any. Then I radar up all my activities, then spend any remaining stamina on zombies or doom legions.

The most important prize of these chests are the Arms Race Badge , in fact these badges contribute to the opening of today’s goal chests

Arms Race Badge can always be found in chests in this quantity:

  • First chest: 1 Arms Race Badge
  • Second chest: 2 Arms Race Badge
  • Third chest: 3 Arms Race Badge

Every time you open a chest you get an Arms Race Badge as described in the previous paragraph.
